The Main Course: New Media Fridays Mission
New Media Friday is not a professional association with speakers or official program meetings.
We meet every fourth Friday of the month, at a different location (bar/restaurant) which changes every couple of months.
The group ranges from 12 to 18 people each month, and goes from 5:00ish to about 7:00 or 8:00 PM, for appetizers, etc. It truly is a drop-in gathering -- no RSVPs, just show up.
Mostly we socialize, but there's a fair amount of networking and business card swapping too. Generally, we're IT entrepreneurs, or software developers, or Internet consultants, or web designers, or multimedia developers (or any combination of the above).
The group's been active since about 1994, and was co-founded by an intellectual property attorney and a venture capitalist, who both thought Ann Arbor should have more high-tech business elbow-rubbing, casual, fun events.
